CD Review - David Archuleta (Self Titled)

3.1

A man, in his 60's, decides to prove that he is 'cool' enough for his children. He searches up 2008's popular music online. He gets results like Chris Brown and Rihanna, and he believes that they truly are the radio's hit singers of today. He opens up his old truck of metal parts, and pieces together something, which he names David Archuleta, after his favourite kickboxer.

The purpose of this machine was to play hits that his teenage children loved. That way, he could fit in with them, and be 'cool' too.

Upon seeing the machine their dad had made for them, they absolutely despised it. The most hurting words to him were from his daughter. "Chris Brown is so yesterday, dad."

He walks away in defeat, leaving the DA machine to rot.

But David Archuleta started to develop a sense of sensitivity, and as it got more left alone, it got sadder and more heartbroken deep inside. Dad, feeling sorry for his machine, gave it a second chance. He reprogrammed and redesigned him to make him look like a human, and be able to sing through cutting snippets of words from Chris Brown songs.

The plan ultimately went for the overkill. Now David Archuleta is a teen bop singing sensation and dad is left alone.

His album came out just yesterday. And from the looks of it, Dad already knows he's just a Chris Brown, Rihanna, Paul Twohill, Jesse McCartney, Chris Brown and Westlife mix. But they are soooo yesterday.

Dad sends his remorse two (whatever is counted as yesterday) days in advance.

Track Pick:

10. Don't Let Go - There's something eschewedly boy band about this. Epic boy band.
