GETTING THE BEST FROM WHERE WE AT
FROM THE JAPAN:
Gellers - Gellers
Who would've thought there would be blues-noise-surf rock in the land of Japan? Infectiously disturbing at first glance, but you'll get the bite soon- and you'll just click along to this humanely artisan free jazz-like jamming of an album. Because it gets softer onwards (in fact, including almost 15 minutes worth of silence) and the album will cool down into a pop side as it needs to. Simple.

FROM THE KOREA:
Vidulgi OoyoO - Aero
Psychotic, demeaning, haunting, something to describe the drone sound of Vidulgi OoyoO (great band name), but is it ever enough? At the same time, it feels more than, and not. Beautifully captivating, and of an invigorating, melodic progression accompanied by the opposite: shoegaze gutter-sounding guitars with the whammy on the max, and mysterious ambiences- Amazing. Simply because it made me think so much. It is.

FROM THE CHINA:
Ourself Beside Me - Ourself Beside Me
Identity is aplomb and acknowledging: A Chinese band of three talented, tone-deaf women who seem to draw their roots from the likes of Pulp, any guitar and strange-sound-synth based band, that is; who come with their own set of silly bad English lyrics, not to mention some of the funniest grammar-error band names I've come across in a while (next to Slade). Progressive experimental rock at its very grassroots. This is the Chinese Sonic Youth.
