In the year that Genie in the Bottle by Christina Aguilera and Iris by Goo Goo Dolls and Mambo No. 5 by Lou Bega was released to the public for huge successes and a soundtrack for the movie Treasure Planet, it is hard to forget some of the better songs that have been gloriously unsung in Singapore by the more famous ones.
Mainstream Gems:
Scar Tissue by Redhot Chilipeppers.
Sexy guitar and Kedis never has sounded or looked so stunning before.
You Get What You Give by New Radicals.
A fat wad of people hate this song but I don't see why anyone shouldn't like this song. You've probably heard it before, but have no idea who sang it. You gotta wait till 35 seconds of this song has passed so you can listen to the part most people remember. But don't skip there. Wait for it to build up.
Torn by Natalie Imbruglia.
Why the hell do people who are half as talented as her like Kylie Minogue or Michelle Branch or Vannessa Carlton have twice the fame as her? Its unfair.
Underground Gems:
New Way to Be Human by Switchfoot.
Mhm. How would Switchfoot sound like 9 years ago? How about, even better than ever? A definite example of what all Christian bands must be as good as. Hear that, Hillsong?!
Save Tonight by Eagle-Eye Cherry.
A smooth song that anyone just has to put on their drive home from work playlist.
Last Kiss by Pearl Jam.
Does your dad know this song? He probably will. Even you will probably know this song. ;D
Any other songs you think deserves a spot on this little list of 1999 awesome songs? Tell me one and I'll think about it being in here.
