D-Sides - Gorillaz CD Review

6.9

I'd think that D-Sides is better than Gorillaz's second album, Demon Days, even though D-Sides IS the B-Side track to Demon Days.

Damon Albarn's been pretty busy with The Good, The Bad & The Queen (watch out for the review soon) so I'd expect him to be releasing some old material that isn't really new.

The album really kicks off after a relaxing instrumental 68 State with People, some sort of a super lax DARE version, and yes, much much better than DARE. Unless of course, you are the mainstream type. Hehehehe.

Hongkongaton is a boring overtone and I'd much like to skip it, unless I'm feeling really lazy and blur. We Are Happy Landfill is an overkill with retardation on the cards. You probably won't understand a word he's saying but its okay, when no one does! Hong Kong's just the most Chinese-sounding English you'll ever get to know and love, and I mean, really love. 7:13 minutes of pure love.

-Or I'll blah blah blah blah blah. Surefire rocker on the album, the 7th song, Rockit, sounds makes you really blah blah blah, and also blah blah blah, and in the end it means its blah blah blah blah blah. The world's very sexy.

The rest of the songs are pretty eh. But the Swagga's cool. The demo of Don't Get Lost in Heaven is better than the original.

The remix CD has some little gems I'd like to tell. DARE's DFA and Junior Sanchez Remix are bedjumpers (or if you are on the chair, chairjumpers and if you're on your toilet, toiletjumpers)
and El Manana's Metronomy Remix is a heart stopping shaker. The Chinese New Year Dirty Harry Remix is such a hilarious make-fun of the Chinese language. If you hear carefully, they're really saying Chinese. For real. Great remix.

Stop the Dams remind me of the Good, the Bad & the Queen. In fact, I'ma listen to them now.
